Starting the conversation

- If your date is available – I’ll schedule a phone or zoom chat to discuss your ideas, needs and preferences
- I will provide an initial service quote and once we are all comfortable, we can formalize the agreement.
Before the Wedding
Depending on requirements of your customization and services selected, we will work together to make sure everything is in place and ready to go. Most couples choose to personalize their service. We’ll start with a script template (I have several to choose from based on your background/preferences), or a script you have found or drafted. Then tweak the words, add readings, lyrics, additional ceremonial elements (hand binding, sand mixing, etc.), personalized vows, and other elements. We’ll collaborate via email, web conference, etc.; crafting it until you’re satisfied.
I also offer (and usually recommend for all but the simplest service) rehearsal facilitation. Often the evening before the event, I join with you and your wedding party to walk through the event and coordinate onsite details you or your planner to answer any questions and make sure the ceremony goes smoothly.
The Big Day
I’ll arrive at your venue at least 30 minutes before the ceremony begins, ready to officiate your union as we have planned. (And of course, dressed appropriately for your theme/ location: Full suit, business casual, farm chic, jeans & t-shirt. I’ve done ’em all.)
After the ceremony, I’ll quickly make sure your license is signed by everyone, give you one of the originals, and mail the second copy to the appropriate county registrar. I also keep a digital copy of your license in my records, just in case you ever need it in an emergency.
